Default Frequency of changing routines?

How frequently should I change my weight lifting routine? Should I constantly change it up to keep my muscles guessing or should I keep at it until I hit a plateau?

Well, it depends on many factors but the simplest way is to change it once you see you dont progress but for this you must know your body very good. Others simply change their training routine once in 2-3 months.

as said above, I personally change the exercises around and change training days which is enough to keep the muscles guessing!

you've been listening to tony horton havn't you? some of the princibles make sense but I think it over complicates things.

Pick a good program, HIT, 5x5, or DC training, etc... and stick with it. consistancy is the secret here.
