A younger fella at my gym, i think heâs a year younger than me, says chin ups are useless.
I asked him his logic, and he said, âwell i can do more curls than chin ups, so the better workout comes from curling"
I then asked him if he ever planned on doing chins and he said ânaw, Iâll always be able to curl more reps, so im gonna stick with that"

In my opinion, pull ups are one of the best workouts you can do. lol! If only I could do more.

I think all exercises have their place, especially to keep shocking the muscle.

I suppose, if he thinks performing chin ups is just a bicep workout, then you can't argue with his misplaced logic that being able to do more curls than chin ups is better. But if that's his way of thinking he'll never get very big, except possibly slightly enlarged biceps.
I think he's totally wrong. He needs to incorporate chin ups
and pull ups for all sorts of reasons and not just to build biceps.
Maybe you could explain the benefits of compound movements to him?
