Let the New Year Rush Begin!

Now that the New Year began, I'm sure you're aware that the gym gets busy... Do you feel more motivated to go to the gym when the New Years resolution people come to workout or do you feel more discouraged?

It's good to see new faces in the gym, but the majority only tend to go for a couple of weeks until the novelty has worn off!
The only thing that really gets to me is the fact that all the newbies are going to be in there chatting away on there phones and generally annoying everyone else!
So I just carry on as normal

Very true! When you see a newbie doing something improper (ie bad form, poor lifting techniques), do you speak up or just let them be?

If I think he/she is serious and really wants to train and learn then yes I'll happily help out and give them advice. It's a great feeling when you see someone come into the gym as a complete novice, and then watch them turn into a decent bodybuilder/weightlifter.
If anyone comes to me and asks for help, then I will always help them!

I find that I have more distractions and have to wait to do certain exercises with to many new people in the gym. I do all free weight and with the crowds, there always seems to be someone that wants to use the oly bar in the squat rack or at the dl spot to do curls or upright rows.

Each new year I end up working out late at night just to miss the crowds, but it screws up my sleep patterns. Golds gym near me closes at midnight and I find only a handful of people there at 10pm.

I have not had to mess with it this year....yet. I caught an ass kicking flu that I am just starting to get over with. So far, eight 130-count boxes of Kleenex with this flu but now its moved to my chest. Once I can go an hour without hacking phlem, I'll be back to the iron.
