"Judges will be looking for fit contestants who display proper shape and symmetry combined with muscularity and overall condition. This is not a bodybuilding contest, so extreme muscularity should be marked down."

For athletes, interpreting these rules can be confusing. How lean should I be? How big? If you're planning to compete, check out the competitors of previous contests in your area. Pay attention to what the athletes looked like and which ones did well. It's also a good idea to research other contests around the country to see how the athletes look.

I think mens physiques has blown up and it is getting much popular with younger crowds . Even though you dont need legs in these competition . This is more aesthetic and more pleasing look than bodybuilders . Not knocking off bodybuilding but I think bodybuilding these days its just much of a freak factor . I love the 80's and 90's bodybuilders but these days too much gh /slin going around . I would say my current favorite now would be the "Blade" Dexter Jackson , Flex Lewis ,Victor Martinez even though he has been declining ...he's been through alot and has my respect love his shape
