Default sourcing protein

When sourcing your protein, try and opt for a good, whole food source, and ensure that the largest percentage of total calories come from protein, not fats or carbohydrates. A protein shake/supplement with minimal additives can be beneficial post workout or if you struggle to get enough protein into your diet through food alone (see recommendations at the bottom of the page). However, supplements are created largely for convenience, avoid replacing real food sources with them.
