Default Processed Meat

Was bored, so just watched a programme about the dangers of meat!

Usual rubbish. The British government has decided that processed meat gives us cancer and that we need to eat no more than 70g a day!

Apparently, red meat isn't necessarily as bad but we need to be careful about eating that too.

Someone did a survey of half million people over five years and those who ate processed meat daily had a forty percent higher chance of contracting cancer than those who ate it just once a week.

Sounds good, but they forgot to take into account who smoked, who drank, who worked where and in what carcinogenic environment, who works regularly with chemicals, who lives next to a mobile phone mast etc etc etc

While I think most of us accept that non organic, and therefore not the hopefully pure red meat that organic meat should be, will have been tainted to a degree with chemicals that might give us cancer, it's fair to say that any food alternative, unless you grow your own lettuce and live on just that, will to probably the same extent do just as much harm.

Just as an extra side, they had a bloke on the programme who ate around two to three hundred grams of protein a day through meat and . . . guess what . . . he was quite a fit, reasonably muscular bloke with hardly any fat!

Maybe he should stop eating meat and start eating cakes and biscuits

Bottom line, in my opinion, is that there isn't enough meat to go around and the 'Government' will do whatever it needs to do or say to make us eat cereal based foods.

Rant over. Have a good day.

Still desperately need to get back on those weights
