Post Fired Men's Wearhouse chairman Zimmer says he's starting new company

Somehow this story reminds me about what happened to Steve Jobs many years ago. Never give up guys.

Quote:
George Zimmer, the founder and fired chairman of Men's Wearhouse with the famous gravelly voice, said that he is planning to launch a new "high tech, high touch" company in the next few months. Zimmer made the disclosure Tuesday at Salesforce.com's annual Dreamforce conference in San Francisco.

Zimmer made a brief, unscheduled appearance onstage before a packed crowd in the great hall in Moscone South, where his friend Marc Benioff, Salesforce's chairman and CEO, was expected to give a keynote speech. He did not provide details, other than to say the company would strive to treat customers and shareholders well, but he promised to unveil his new enterprise via Twitter in the coming months.

Zimmer was fired without public explanation in June of 2013 by Men's Wearhouse(NYSE: MW), which is based in Houston but has significant operations in Fremont. In 1973 he started the clothing company through which he became famous, starring in television commercials. He had already stepped out of the CEO role in favor of Douglas Ewert.
