Brilliant post.

There's really no mystery about healthy eating. You can't really go wrong if you eat food in its natural state. And no, donuts are not natural.

As for the demonizing saturated fat, I just don't get it. When our ancestors caught an animal to eat, did they trim off all the fat first!

And the argument about good and bad fat doesn't really wash either. Eskimos eat fish because they live next to the sea. Not because its good fat. And because there aren't many lambs in the arctic. But that doesn't mean to say that everyone else will die of heart disease and they won't. Give an eskimo access to the shit (unnatural) foods we all eat and they'll suffer just like we do.

The reason saturated fat turned bad was because it got hydrogenated and/or added to simple carbs in the form of cakes and biscuits etc. and it's the simple carbs/sugar/flour that is the problem. Not the fat.

Also, eating naturally self regulates the appetite. It's almost impossible to overeat until you start adding unnatural foods like ice cream (yummy) and cakes, biscuits etc etc.

Keep up these posts Eazy. It's good to be reminded not to eat bad food every so often.
