17th July

Right, first things first, just a few days after saying I didn't feel drained and lifeless, I feel drained and lifeless. Well, not quite, but for the first time in months my strength has decreased. The intensity was there, just not the strength!

Either those two 10000kg workouts have knocked me for six or I need a few more carbs. The last two workouts were more endurance than muscle or strength building and I'm not eating much in the way of carbs, so it doesn't take a genius to workout the problem. I'll be adding in some oats pre workout for a while!

Today was Chest, Shoulders and Biceps

Flat Bench Dumbbell Presses
2 warm up sets of 10 reps
4 working sets of 12, 10, 7 (couldn't make 8) and 6 reps

Flat Bench Dumbbell Flyes
4 working sets of 10 reps

Standing Dumbbell Shoulder Presses
2 sets of 10 reps

followed immediately by

Seated Dumbbell Shoulder Curls
2 sets of 10 reps

4 sets of a variety of dumbbell and hammer curls x 10 reps

One last comment . . . I've been taking anything from 1/3, 1/2 and 1 whole tab of arimidex Ed for a few weeks and without realising lowered my estrogen too much. It sort of dawned on me a week ago that I wasn't feeling particularly 'on heat'. No other bad effects, just a lack of interest in the wife. After reading through some forums I discovered what I was doing wrong. I stopped taking any AI's and a few days later the Test fought back and she had an unexpected birthday. I've got to re-calculate whether or not I need an AI just yet and if so how much. Right now, I have no plans to take it again, but let's see what happens sides wise.

Back and Triceps

Pendlay Rows
2 warm up sets

Kept the same weight as last time but performed the reps a bit slower and a bit more strict

Kroc Rows
3 working sets of 25 reps
Again, same weight

Lat Pull Downs
4 sets of 8 reps

4 sets triceps pressdowns - didn't count reps but between 15 and 19

Narrow grip bench Press
3 sets of 8 reps

Got my Pro.Chem 50mg Anavar today and started taking half in the morning and half about one hour pre workout. Not expecting anything to happen yet, so wasn't disappointed.

No arimidex yet, don't feel the need. Apart from that, nothing to report.

Back and triceps

Another 10000kg challenge

Barbell rows

3 warm up sets
Then 3 sets x 8 reps x 50kg
5 sets x 10 reps x 40kg
5 sets x 9 reps x 40kg
5 sets x 8 reps x 40kg
7 sets x 8 reps x 40 kg
5 sets x 7 reps x 40kg
6 sets x 6 reps x 40kg

Triceps
5 sets x various reps and weights

I wouldnt usually do the same body part two workouts in a row, but I feel completely recovered and even if I'm not it shouldn't hurt to shock my muscles once a decade. That and the fact that this was endurance rather than muscle or strength building.

The workout was done with about 30 to 40 seconds between each set and definitely got the old heart and lungs gobbling off about the workload! Best of all I don't think I've knackered my lower back as a result.

It's my third day of 50mg ED of anavar and I haven't felt an increase in pumps over those the test E is giving me. I ate some carbs this morning and pre workout, so I have no idea if its the carbs, the var or the 6 weeks of testosterone that is responsible for these, for me anyway, very satisfying workouts.

On the marital front, she's found out the I am a 'dirty, low life junkie'! Since then, having demonstrated the benefits, for both of us, that adequate testosterone levels and a tab of Kalpa's Taldenaxyl (highly recommended) can have she's come round to my way of thinking. And I love it!!!

I took half a tab of arimidex yesterday due to what I thought was slightly itchy nips. The feeling's gone so its either my imagination or the adex works. That's it for now though. Don't want my libido going down the drain again.

21st July

Don't quite know how to describe this one. Did a workout with a work colleague that he described as GVT. I've never done German Volume training so have no idea if this is correct or not!

To start we did 10 sets x 10 reps of Smith machine bench presses, supersetted with crunches. No rest, apart from a few seconds while we waited for the other to complete his bit.

We then did 4 sets x 10 reps of incline dumbbell presses, supersetted with triceps pressdowns and lying leg raises. As before, no rest etc

To finish we did 4 sets x 10 reps of incline dumbbell flyes, supersetted with dumbbell side bends. No rest again between sets.

Another good, endurance style workout, though this one was within the muscle building range. I'm not going all out to break down muscle tissue in a way I would if I was strength or muscle building, so in that respect my recovery is easier, but I do know that without the addition of the Test E and now the Anavar I wouldn't be performing the way I am at the moment.

The way I feel at the moment I'm already planning a 10000kg squatting session for tomorrow. maybe when I get up in the morning I'll feel the need for a rest day . . . don't know yet.

I'm also doing all this while in a slight calorie deficit and a definite carb deficit. Which makes it even more remarkable. Just wish I'd done a cycle years ago!:cool:

Hey buddy glad to see ur not breathing through ur ass after the misses found out lol but for real my hubbie and I talked in detail before he started his gear several years back and I did loads and loads of reading and browsing before I was semi comfortable with the idea and now here I am running my own cycle and happy as ever. I think with time and research and seeing how you don't roid out and go crazy(stero-type) I'll think she'll come around to the benefits of gear.

And as always keep up the good work...can't wait to see pics!

Cheers DD, my eyeballs are still intact post confession! No roid rage for me! If anything I've chilled out. We have friends and relatives on roids, so having grown a lot more than usual in the last 6 weeks she was always gonna guess that something was going on! At my age nobody grows like this on just oats and protein powder!

Blew out the squats and did a session on the treadmill straight after walking the dog instead. Maybe tomorrow. That's déjà vu, isn't it?

As for the var . . . I hate to be premature, but after just 5 days I seem to be having a growth spurt! And what seems to be growing is fairly solid stuff! Nobody take my word for it yet, coz I feel a but sceptical myself, but if the var is responsible then I'm really looking forward to the next seven weeks or so!

Don't know whether to halve my test dose or not. I'm not getting any sides at all, so no need in that respect, but as it isn't really my intention to grow too big yet maybe I should save it for my next (bulking) cycle! I'm leaning towards lowering the dose and dropping a bit more fat at the moment, but I just don't know yet! If I do lower it I'll see whether the intensity of my workouts suffers or whether the var can cover the loss.

A quick ps, I am taking photos and at the end of this cycle will be posting all the pre and post cycle stats etc. I'll be doing a summing up of what I think ive gained out of doing a cycle and what I would do differently if I could do it all over again.

23rd July

Shoulders

Standing Military Presses

4 warm up sets of 10, 10,8 and 3 reps
4 working sets of 12, 8, 8 and 8 reps (should have been 12, 10, 8 and 6 but something went wrong)

Seated Arnold Presses

4 working sets of 13, 12, 10 and 5 reps
Followed immediately by normal dumbbell presses of 2 sets x 5 and 6 reps

Dumbbell Shrugs
3 sets of 15 rep with an extra 2.5kg for the third set

This was more or less the same workout as 6th July. I've been doing mainly endurance workouts since then, so it was interesting to see how much I've progressed. I added extra reps on about 20% of the workout and added some weight in places. In that respect I have progressed, which is exactly what I would have hoped to do. And, as I said a few days ago, I've been cutting calories and carbs for few weeks now so would usually expect to have lost at least some muscle and therefore strength and that doesn't seem to be happening.

I'm hoping to do some triceps later on tonight.

26th July

Legs and Biceps

Barbell Squats

4 warm up sets of 12, 12, 3 and 10 reps
4 working sets of 12, 10, 8 and 6 reps

Didn't push it as much as I could have done as my back is playing me up slightly. Not enough to stop me, but enough to make me use caution. Think I got away with it.

I supersetted the squats with dumbbell curls @ 15, 12, 10 and 8 reps


Lying Hamstring Curls
3 sets of 10

I find this rep range works best for me. Too heavy and my back starts to protest.

Leg extensions
4 sets of 10 reps

Finished by doing 3 sets of 10 reps of cable preacher curls

I've taken a couple of 1/2 tabs of arimidex over the last week due to what seemed to be itchy nips. They always go away the following day, which makes me wonder whether it's just my imagination. Better safe than sorry I suppose.

Actually, I was half expecting some sort of rebound after hitting the adex a bit too much a while ago and then stopping, but that doesn't really seemed to have happened.

I've also taken 1 x 50mg tab of Anavar every day now and I really don't know whether they've had an effect of not. I'm still leaning out nicely, my strength is the same or possibly, marginally up a bit and my muscles are maybe a bit harder. It's only been 7 days, so probably too soon for any real effects to show. I've been running a fair bit over the last week and my hips are starting to play up a tiny bit. Could the Anavar be doing that? I just don't know. As always, time will tell.

As posted previously, I was considering lowering the test dose but as soon as I post this I'm off to squeeze in 250mg, so I'm not lowering it at all this week. I suppose, all the time I feel I'm leaning out I'll probably keep the dose where it is. If I feel there's too much bloat and I'm not losing fat then that's when I'll lower it.

28th July

Back and Biceps

Did another variation on the 'supposed' German Volume training that I did the other day, with my work colleague.

10 sets x 10 reps of barbell rows, supersetted with crunches. usual no rest between sets.

Then we did 3 sets of Kroc rows x 25 reps, supersetted with lying leg extensions.

Then 4 sets x 10 reps of close grip lat pull downs

and 4 sets close grip seated rows x 10 reps

Finally 2 pyramid sets of cable curls x 20, 10, 5, 15 and 20 reps non stop.

Stopped using the Anavar today. My joints are just too bad, probably as bad as they've ever been. No idea if the var is responsible, whether it's really winni, whether my training is the cause or what, but it's the only thing I've changed recently and until I know otherwise I'm not taking any more.

My strength has gone up and I'm still leaning out, so hopefully that will continue.

7th August

Haven't done a workout since 28th July due to non stop work commitments. A lot of that work involves lifting and carrying, so although I've done no actual weight training, I have done loads of exercise. As a result I'm losing bodyfat at a very good rate and as far as I can tell no real loss of lean muscle.

I've finally resumed weight training today though and started with a chest workout. I was going to go for a 10000kg bench press marathon, but after a little over 5000kg decided to call it a day. I think I could have completed the full 10000kg but just know I'd have been absolutely fooked. I should add that I've been on ultra low carbs for the past week and that was blatantly obvious today.

As for the anavar, I took about three days off to see what happened with my joints. The pain went away and I resumed taking 1 x 50mg tab of anavar per day and the joint pain hasn't come back. Haven't got a clue what's happening there. I'm giving the anavar some points for my fat loss though. I've lost like this before, but never just fat and not muscle. Of course, the test e might have something to do with it, but since taking the anavar it does seem to have accelerated the loss.

Still on the Anavar. Going to up it to 2 x 50mg tabs ED for two weeks and the end of the bottle, and hope it's not Winni!

Today's workout was back to normal - not a 10000kg challenge!

Wide Grip Lat Pull Downs
3 warm up sets of 12, 6 and 6 reps
3 working sets of 6, 8 and 10 reps
Didn't quite get the weight right, hence the strange reps

Seated V Bar Rows
3 working sets of 10 reps

One Arm Dumbbell Rows
3 sets of 12 reps

Barbell Rows
3 sets of 8 reps

Felt good to get back to the heavier stuff, rather than the more aerobically challenging endurance weights. Even though my carb consumption is a lot less than it was 8 weeks ago I easily lifted more than I did back then. I'm looking forward to doing a more bulking cycle and can definitely see how a 20 or 30lb gain during a 12 week cycle is possible. In fact, I reckon it's probably harder not to gain that amount of weight!

These were performed strictly, with continuous tension.

Seated Dumbbell Presses

I can't work out whether I like the pain in my shoulders while doing these exercises or not! I do know it f*cking hurts!

Dumbbell Curls
2 x 3 sets of 14 x 10kg, 12 x 12.5kg and 10 reps x 15kg
Performed nice and slow and strict, non stop on one arm before doing the same on the other arm.

Deadlifts and pendlay rows

I've been so busy recently I didn't find the time to post this, so it's a few days late . . .

Deadlifts
3 warm up sets
3 working sets of 5, 3 and 2 reps

Basically all out effort and lift as heavy as I could!

Pendlay rows
3 warm up sets
3 working sets of 5, 4 and 3 reps

Same as the deadlifts but did a few more reps than expected

Did some triceps pressdowns afterwards as well

It's frustrating working so long and hard at the moment and having so little time to workout! I can't risk injury so I'm not pushing it, but with luck shoułd be back to a regular schedule very soon.

Probably shouldn't have done shoulders again, but what the . . .

Also, I wasn't going to go on about pip again, but I've recently started my second batch of Test E, with a smaller opening and clearer liquid and I get little to no pip at all. My first batch was my first ever and I had nothing to compare the pip against. But now, I know that the first lot's pip was pretty bad. I've even wondered whether the second lot is nothing more than oil! I'm sure it's not and time will prove that. Coz if it is, I'll be going into PCT without realising! If I suddenly grow big tits, a fat arse and large wobbly thighs I'll know estrogen's winning the war and the test is dud!

I've still got some of the first lot left and I'm trying to use it when I know I won't be crouching down too much. That's how bad the pip now seems to be and just when I'd got used to it.

Dietwise, I'm still eating low carb and trying to cut. I'm very happy with my progress so far. I don't expect to pack on muscle due to the low calories I'm eating, but I'm doing just that. Not exactly bodybuilding growth, but it's going on as well as it ever did.

Although the fat's not exactly disappearing overnight, it never does anyway - not unless you literally starve yourself and I didn't build muscle just for my body to eat it all whenever I diet. I do know that usually when eating such low calories and losing body fat, I'd also be losing muscle and not gaining it.

Overall, what's happening is exactly what I had hoped would be happening. :D

That was it for today. Pushed as hard as poss for the bench press and pushed a weight I haven't pushed for a few years, so although not an all time PB it was certainly a PB for a few years. I think I've written earlier somewhere that I have a more or less permanent weakness in my left up back/chest/shoulder so don't expect to ever reach the dizzy heights of 15 years ago anyway! Oh well . . .

Took the dog for a 4 mile walk and then ran 3 miles on the treadmill this morning (about 4 hours pre weight training), so overall a fairly energetic day.

Really am finding time to workout difficult at the moment, but managed to squeeze in a back workout.

This one was basically a repeat of last week's workout.

Not quite so low carb this week, so feeling slightly stronger.

It's 10pm and I'm at work. Because I've been missing so many workouts recently I've made myself do a short and not too sweaty back and triceps workout. I have been running a fair bit, so I haven't been sitting on my arse developing lard!

Barbell rows (used an EZ bar)
Two warm up sets, then
6 x 70
6 x 70
6 x 70
6 x 50
6 x 50

Seated rows with v bar
8 x 40
8 x 50
8 x 55
8 x 60
7 x 65
6 x 70
All done with good form, except maybe the last 2 reps of the 70kg set when I used a bit more body row than I should!

Triceps pressdowns
15 x 25
6 x 30
5 x 30
10 x 25
I like to keep these extremely strict. No swinging or using my body to shift the weight. Just triceps.

I'm still eating low carb though not as low as a few weeks ago and I'm losing bodyfat and gaining enough strength to keep me happy. I dread to think how much progress all you younger lot who eat bucket loads of calories can make during a 12 week cycle! Just wish I'd started years ago!

Just a short workout, didn't get too sweaty or huff and puff too much!

Grip was giving up. Didn't use straps due to not wanting to push my wrist too much. See below.

20 x 27.5kg

Shouldn't really have followed a back workout with another back workout, but I seem to have sprained my wrist or something and chest, shoulders and arm workouts are causing too much discomfort. I'm not prepared to risk aggravating the injury.

For some weird reason I can do deadlifts etc!

I really can't praise the Kalpa Test E that I'm using highly enough. It really has exceeded every expectation I had. I've said a lot of times in this log that I'm not eating to bulk and I'm not eating the regulation gram of protein per pound of bodyweight either. I'm not exactly starving myself, but I am eating few enough calories to have expected to lose about a stone in weight. This hasn't happened. I haven't actually lost weight as such, but I have lost 2 or 3 inches of the bad stuff off my waist and gained inches of the good stuff in the places I wanted to gain. If an old fart like me can do it, then providing you train and rest properly, anyone can!

I will be posting photos, stats and all that shit in a month or so. If you are reading this and mulling over whether or not to use Test, then mull no longer.
Having said that, do read up and be aware of the risks and take the necessary precautions.

Yes, mate, I have. I've got some horrible before shots and some much better now shots. I was going to do the whole before and after thing in about two weeks. Not sure whether to stop at 12 weeks or carry on for 16 at the mo. I'm even considering doing a low dose TRT for a while. Probably get my bloods done and see what's going on before making that decision.

you could taper off
and keep updated as when come off
i seem to be quite ok lagging for few weeks but soon went and didnt feel like lost much gains and all done for pct was novla everyday for 30 days starting week after come off think was 20mg tablets

I'm intending to carry on the log whether I do pct or carry on with a small dose of trt. There doesn't seem to be a lot of that sort of info about. As ever i'll tell it as it is.

Tbh I'm not really a lot bigger than when I started. It was mainly fat loss without muscle loss that I was after, so I'm just likely to gain fat again rather than lose loads of muscle but we'll see.

Just got back from a week in the sun and raring to go again. I've decided to go on a low dose TRT regime for a while. Today's jab was 100mg of test E and that'll be twice a week for a total of 200mg. I'll see how that goes and will possibly aim to get down to 150mg per week. No idea how I'll feel at that level, so it's another case of try it and see time again.

Pinning an average of 450mg per week over the last 11 or 12 weeks was the best thing I've done in a long time, but I know I can't do that forever. In a way, being an elderly citizen I haven't got a lot of natural testosterone to bugger up, but I don't want to send my blood pressure through the roof and clog my arteries with bad stuff, so it's got to be low dose for a few months. I'll be having my blood checked soon, so will make any final decision based on the results. Luckily, my blood make up is pretty good for my age to start with. I'd like to keep it that way as much as poss, but will accept some decline.

I'm going to post a summary of my 12 week Test E cycle as soon as I get a chance to do it properly, so won't drag on about it right now.

Today's workout - the first of my new 12 week training cycle - was legs and biceps . . .

Legs

Calf Raises (on a leverage gym)
2 sets x 30 reps
I hate doing these and that's why I've got pathetic calves!


Barbell Squats
4 sets x 10, 8, 6 and 2 reps

Leg extensions
4 sets of 8 reps

Hamstring Curls
4 sets x 8 reps

Biceps

Hammer Curls
4 sets x 8 reps

Dumbbell Curls
4 sets x 8 reps

There will be a bit more emphasis on putting on size, as opposed to fat loss on this cycle. That's not to say that I intend putting a load of blubber back on, just that I won't be targetting all my training towards fat loss. I lost 3 inches off my waist in the last 12 weeks and a total of 5 inches in the last 2 years. I think that proves that taking steroids has helped in that respect. Though whether it was the 12 weeks of Test E or the 50 days of 50mg Anavar that did the trick I don't really know . . . I'm sure that being able to run again, due to not having painful hips has helped, as has keeping the diet reasonably strict.

Just in case I had an estro rebound I took some Nolva and in case of brewer's droop took some Taldenaxyl 20 away with me. Both from Kalpa.

They're both great, but I do wish they didn't look identical! They somehow got mixed up and for a few days I didn't know if I was going to wake up with a hard on or a pair of tits!!! ;)


ps I've ordered loads of goodies from Huge Tom at Gbnstore. The first package arrived at least 10 days early and in fact, only took a few days to arrive. The second is due in October and I've every reason to expect that any day soon, the way things go. Thanks Huge Tom. Keep up the excellent work.

Hi mate, some Anavar, the bulk lot of 10 x test e, some nandroxyl (in reserve in case my joints play up again and to see if it works like it's supposed to do), arimidex and taldenaxyl. Apart from the test E, the other stuff will just sit there for a few months - tempting me probably.

Did this to finish off my triceps

Wasn't the intense workout I was planning but I've been working extra again and the work is hard graft. Should have done this workout yesterday as it happens, so didn't want to leave it another day.

I'm pinning 200mg per week for a while to see what happens. So far, no probs. Haven't got fat, haven't lost any strength as such or size. Will be looking to reduce to 175mg if I can.

At the moment, I don't really feel any different to when I was on 500mg EW. It's been about 3 weeks since my last 500 week, so any downturn should start to show soon, I would presume.

Anyway, day late posting this but this was my back workout on 22nd September . . .

Barbell Rows
4 sets x 8 reps (done as a slight pyramid)

Kroc Rows
4 sets x 15 (warmup, 25, 25 and 20 reps

Seated Rows with V handled bar
4 sets x 8 reps

Another fairly short workout, but this was done with a slower rep speed, permanent tension and super strict form.

I'm off to pin my half weekly 100mg of test now. I know it's not a true measure of my test levels but I'm still a bit of a sex pest. Much more than I ever was pre Test E. I feel like a bloody teenager! It's mental!:D

ps starting to worry a bit coz my second package hasn't turned up yet. It's the biggy unfortunately. I'm still at least a week off the expected delivery date, so trying hard to stay cool.

1oomg may still double if not tripple of your natral test so will still be feeling like teenager

Thanks for the reassurance. TBH I didn't need it as I have total faith that it would come and guess what, it did. The day after that last post.

Cheers andyebs for the input (and Cena2013 and Crew38). It's a case of slowly tapering down really. I don't want to get too low obviously, so it's definitely play it by ear. I'll keep posting my feelings and thoughts etc and I'll always train, so it'll be interesting to see what happens.

A big thumbs up to HugeTom and Gbnstore, yet again.

At last a photo update! This is simply to show the results of my 12 week test E at 475mg cycle.

If you haven't read any of this log yet then I should point out that my aim was to lose fat while retaining and/or hopefully gaining some lean mass. It definitely wasn't an all out bulking cycle.

As far as I am concerned I achieved all I set out to achieve, though never completely, of course.

The quality of the photos isn't great, but hopefully shows the progress. There definitely was progress. I've lost 3 inches off my waist, without any muscle loss. Usually when I lose fat I also lose loads of muscle, so usually decided I'd rather keep the muscle and, unfortunately, the fat.

To be honest, looking at the photos, they don't really show the true picture. Trust me, the cycle definitely worked. I didn't go mad with the doseage, though at 475mg EW I did end up using more than I originally planned.

As far as stats are concerned, I gained about half an inch on my arms, which with some fat loss probably translates to 1 or 1.5 inches. My waist shrunk by loads and I lost about an inch off my chest, but as with the arms that was fat loss and a bit of muscle gain. Also, since starting the cycle any back pain I still had from 3 slipped discs over the last decade has completely disappeared, as has my joint pain in my hips. This means I have been able to start running again and even more important I've been able to add weight to my barbell rows, seated rows, kroc rows etc and that is starting to show results.

This isn't the end. I'll never stop training anyway, but with luck (no injuries etc) I'll be able to maintain this fat loss and start to add some quality muscle. At my age, any gains are a bonus.

and as long as getting the results your after thats all tht matters
whats plans for next cycle lean bulk or fat loss

Hi mate, thanks for that. Not really sure about next cycle. I think I'll see what happens over the next few months and then decide. I'm not really into getting too big as such, so maybe carrying on leaning out and keep what I've got. I have to be a bit more aware of injuries at my stage, so not really into pushing it too much.

I just like weight training. Always have done. I do it for the fitness as much as the strength and size . . .

But, having said that, who knows! Getting bigger does get a bit addictive!:D

some people say should cut then can see what working with

Late again posting. Did legs yesterday. Basically, the same as the last leg workout . . .

Legs

Calf Raises (on a leverage gym)
3 sets x 30 reps


Barbell Squats
4 sets x 10, 8, 6 and 2 reps

Leg extensions
4 sets of 8 reps

Hamstring Curls
4 sets x 8 reps

Biceps

Hammer Curls
3 sets x 8 reps

Dumbbell Curls
3 sets x 8 reps

More or less the same weight as last time, except for the biceps. Added some weight and used less sets. See what happens!

Back

A slightly different back workout with the addition of deadlifts.

Barbell Rows

2 warm up sets of 8 reps, then 5 working sets of 8 reps, going heavier with each set

Deadlifts

2 sets x 8 reps, then 2 sets x 4 reps.

Dumbbell Rows

3 sets x 10 reps

That was it. Still pinning 200mg per week and still no apparent loss of strength. If I'm honest, I not sure that I have the same staying power to put in a mega workout that I had a few weeks ago, but then again I'm lifting slow and heavy for strength and size rather than for endurance/fat loss. I'll have a better idea of the effect of lowering the test dose in a few weeks I suppose.
